7taps, Gemini, Google Docs

This microlearning was designed as a pre-event and on-the-go resource to help students approach networking with more confidence and ease. Built in 7taps for a quick, mobile-friendly experience, learners moved through interactive cards, short videos, and reflective questions that reframed networking as relationship-centered rather than transactional.

The Problem

Many students saw networking as intimidating, awkward, or purely transactional. They often said things like, “I don’t have anything to offer.” This mindset created barriers to genuine connection and left students feeling underprepared for the organization’s upcoming social event and beyond.

The Solution

To make networking feel approachable and authentic, I created a microlearning experience designed to fit seamlessly into students’ busy schedules. Learners could complete it in under five minutes, including before and during the event, on any device. Through relatable media clips, practical conversation starters, and reflection prompts, the module guided students to see themselves as valuable contributors to a professional community.

I used Gemini as a design partner to source the video content that would resonate with college audiences and draft the interactive text. The result: a high-impact, confidence-boosting microlearning that encouraged meaningful, relationship-centered connections.

I started by activating the emotions of the learner and having them tap into current attitudes towards networking.

I transformed a 14-minute TED Talk into bite-sized video moments using the platform’s AI Avatar feature.
